About Us
What Makes Us Different
Allegro Music School is dedicated to offering high quality music instruction on multiple instruments to students of all ages in the Lynchburg area.
We have an outstanding retention rate, often teaching our students from age 6 - high school. We teach a beginner method called "Piano ABC's" which was recently patented and teaches note reading effectively and quickly. Our students graduate from lesson books to "real music" much quicker than normal.
We utilize a collaborative teaching environment where students receive the benefits of the perspective and experience of all of our teachers, not just one.
We offer highly personalized music instruction, tailored to a students learning style and top human needs. Our teachers receive training in the most effective teaching strategies for each learning style.
We are committed to a high level of excellence and professionalism, and we also make connecting with and encouraging our students a very high priority.
We offer multiple opportunities for performance throughout the year which helps make lessons rewarding, and serves as a motivation for diligent practice.
Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe music is a gift from our Creator and that the pursuit of musical excellence is a high quality way to meet our human needs for growth, significance, connection, contribution and variety.
The skills and life lessons students acquire during music studies will serve them throughout their lives in countless ways.
We are music teachers because we have a passion for music, growth and nurturing. We are committed to helping all our students reach THEIR goals for music study.
Our goal is to become excellent musicians and teachers through a lifetime of learning and perfecting our own skills. In this way, we hope to be a good example to our students.
To the best of our ability, we will give each student an excellent and well-rounded musical education with the goal of producing confident, self-directed learners who are ready and willing to use their music to enrich their lives and the lives of those around them. This education will include instruction in technique, music theory, sight-reading, playing and performing the classical literature from all periods, ensemble playing, and improvisation.
Lessons in this studio are fun and encouraging, and are based on the premise that each student is gifted in unique ways and deserves our very best attention and efforts. In this studio, every student is our very favorite!
